Songs of My Heart
The Voice of Paramahansa Yogananda — Chants, Poems, and Prayers
Autor: Paramahansa Yogananda
Paramahansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi, is considered one of the preeminent spiritual figures of our time. In the closing years of his life, recordings were made of Yogananda singing Indian devotional chants and some of his own compositions, as well as reciting poems and prayers. This CD recording combines all of the selections from two previously published audiocassettes, and also features, for the first time, the chant, “Divine Mother’s Song to the Devotee.”
Beholding the One in All
An informal talk by Paramahansa Yogananda; Collector’s Series No. 1
This talk by Paramahansa Yogananda was recorded at the Self-Realization Fellowship International Headquarters during an informal gathering on the occasion of his birthday — January 5, 1949. At this point in his life, the Guru’s outward mission to the world had been largely completed, and he had begun to withdraw more and more from public life. Freed from many organizational activities, he was able to remain for long periods completely immersed in the highest states of samadhi, or union with God. His talk preserved in this recording expresses the inspiration of that exalted state. Like a brilliant, multifaceted jewel, his consciousness reflects at different times throughout the talk the sweet love of God, His pure wisdom, the dynamic force of His infinite power.
Paramahansaji’s words on this occasion were characterized by a touching informality. Ever appreciative of the smallest acts of kindness, he begins by thanking the disciples for their loving remembrances of his birthday, reminding them of the divine Source of all friendship and all love. With illustrations from the Indian scriptures, humorous and instructive incidents from his own life, and the deep insights flowing from his direct perception of Truth, he goes on to show with vivid clarity that there is one great theme in this stupendous drama of creation, and a single purpose behind all that happens to us: to coax us to look beyond the illusions of this transitory life and discover the glory and the love of God.

Awake in the Cosmic Dream
An informal talk by Paramahansa Yogananda; Collector’s Series No. 2
Awake in the Cosmic Dream was recorded on January 5, 1952, during a joyous gathering at the Self-Realization Fellowship Mother Center in honor of Paramahansa Yogananda’s birthday. The occasion was especially significant for it was just two months later that the great Master left his body. During the events of the evening, Paramahansaji addressed the gathering several times, not as one might speak in a formal lecture or public address, but in a spontaneous outpouring of his heart and soul to his closest disciples and friends. Aware that soon he would no longer be physically with them, Paramahansaji touches upon the entire spectrum of spiritual living — all of the vital necessities for creating a dynamic, living relationship with God. He conveys with delightful humor and compassionate understanding why God is the only permanent solution to the enduring problems of human existence.
Through personal stories and practical guidance, and through the example of his own intimate communion with the Divine Beloved who manifested to him even as he spoke, Paramahansaji gives an unforgettable glimpse of that awakened consciousness in which all mortal dreams of limitation melt away in the blissful awareness of God, the sole Reality.
Awake in the Cosmic Dream is the second in a special collector’s series of recorded talks by Paramahansa Yogananda. Self-Realization Fellowship is happy to present these satsanga recordings, which make it possible to know not just what the great Master said, but how he actually spoke — to hear his words and feel in them the power, the wisdom, and the all-embracing love and compassion of his God-illumined consciousness.

The Great Light of God
An informal talk by Paramahansa Yogananda; Collector’s Series No. 3
This talk by Paramahansa Yogananda was recorded at Self-Realization Fellowship’s International Headquarters on December 23, 1951, at the last all-day Christmas meditation held during his lifetime. A spiritual highlight of the year for followers of the Self-Realization teachings, the tradition of devoting a whole day to meditation and communion with God had been started by Paramahansaji in 1931, a tradition that is honored to this day in SRF temples and centers worldwide. He often said that if even on one day a person were to become deeply absorbed in the thought and the love of God, his or her whole life would be changed forever.
During these long Christmas meditations, Paramahansaji would enter the ecstatic state of samadhi, and all present would share in the inspiration that flowed through his words. The year this recording was made, he remained secluded in his private quarters. As he spoke at intervals throughout the day, his words were conveyed through a speaker system to the disciples meditating in the chapel. His voice reflects at times his interiorized consciousness, and at other times the power and intensity with which he urged the devotees to seek God ever more deeply.
“A thousand million suns do not describe the light of my Father.”
In this talk Paramahansa Yogananda speaks of that immense light of God, and of the indescribable joy experienced by one who perceives that Unseen Reality. He explains why the spiritual science of Kriya Yoga gives the greatest proof of God’s existence and how, through its practice, you realize that you are not a man or woman, but part of the eternal consciousness, the infinite blessedness of Spirit.
The Great Light of God is the third in a special collector’s series of recorded talks by Paramahansa Yogananda. Self-Realization Fellowship is happy to present these rare recordings — a priceless part of the great Master’s spiritual legacy to the world.

This rare recorded talk was taped during a Sunday service at the Self-Realization Fellowship Hollywood Temple on January 29, 1950. With many colorful stories drawn from his own life experiences, he helps us to see that everything we are seeking in people, conditions, and events — all the love, power, happiness, and fulfillment — is already ours; that we do not have to acquire anything outside ourselves, but only to remember what even now exists within our own souls.

Self-Realization: The Inner and the Outer Path
An informal talk by Paramahansa Yogananda; Collector’s Series No. 5
These rare recorded talks were taped during a gathering at Self-Realization Fellowship International Headquarters on Christmas Day, 1950. Paramahansa Yogananda inspires his listeners to a deeper understanding of the twofold path of highest spirituality: inner communion with God combined with serviceful activity in the world.

• Overcome fear, worry, anger, nervousness, moodiness

Arpan
Soul Offerings to the Divine
Author: Brahmacharini Mirabai
Indian devotional chants performed by Brahmacharini Mirabai
Brahmacharini Mirabai (1926–2006) was a much-loved nun of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) whose devotional singing expressed the divine longing and “soul force” that Paramahansa Yogananda extolled in Indian music. She was an acclaimed devotional singer, instrumentalist, and teacher of classical and religious music. Prior to becoming a renunciant, she was known throughout India for her artistry and her beautiful interpretations of classical Indian bhajans (devotional songs) and chants.
This two CD set consists of bhajans sung by her during her only visit to the United States in 1997. As is customary in the spiritual tradition of India, bhajans are meant to invoke the presence and blessings of the One Spirit, or God, in various aspects.
Accompanying the selections are various Indian instruments, including harmonium, tabla, sarod, flute, violin, bells, cymbals, conch, surmandal, and tanpura. Also includes an accompanying booklet with the lyrics in Sanskrit, Bengali, and Hindi with English translation.
Anjali
The Joy of Chanting the Divine Name
Author: Brahmacharini Mirabai
Anjali means offering. Traditional Indian bhajans (devotional songs) are truly offerings to God, composed and sung as expressions of the soul’s homage to the Divine. In August 1997, Brahmacharini Mirabai traveled to the United States to visit the Self-Realization Fellowship ashram centers founded in the West by Paramahansa Yogananda, and to share the spirit and inspiration of Indian bhajans. The selections on Anjali were recorded during her visit — most of them live performances at Self-Realization Fellowship temples and ashram centers, where audiences were deeply moved by her beautiful renditions of these heartfelt songs of devotion.
